Hi, I’m Ryan, the one behind Smart SEO. I was a photographer for six years, and I’ve spent the last ten helping creatives with their SEO. Most of the site owners I’ve worked with were stuck in one of two places: paying a consultant $1,000 or more a month without really understanding what they were getting, or staring at an SEO plugin full of green lights with no idea what to actually do next.
Smart SEO is what I built for that second group. It’s an app that coaches you through SEO, task by task. It reads your own pages, then writes you one short plan a month: which page to change, why it matters for your business, and the exact words to paste. You get the tasks ranked by what will move your site most, and you work through them at whatever pace fits the hour you have. When you finish a plan, Smart SEO writes next month’s around what you actually got through.
What I’ll write about here
- Plain-English how-tos for the things that matter and never seem to get done: page titles that say what you actually do, image alt text, the first paragraph on your services page.
- What AI search is changing. Google’s AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity are changing how people find websites. I read the research so you don’t have to, and I’ll tell you what’s worth acting on. Start with how AI search is quietly changing SEO.
- What I’m learning from real sites. What a month of small changes looks like a few months later, and what I’d do differently next time.
- Showit notes. A lot of you run Showit with a WordPress blog. Showit makes a beautiful site, and the SEO side needs a bit more attention than it usually gets.

If you run your own site and sell a service, and you want to be found on Google without becoming an SEO expert, this is for you. Photographers, designers and coaches, mostly. You’ve probably heard of keywords and page titles, and that’s all you need coming in.
